The Western Pocono Woman’s Club is a service organization made up of women who volunteer time and raise funds to serve their community. It was founded in 1970 with 16 charter members. The club joined the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) in May of 1971.
The object of this club is to develop the educational, civic and social interests of its members, to advance the welfare of the community, and to promote the progress and work of the State Federation of Pennsylvania Women.
Club motto: When you give of yourself, you truly give.
The club meets at 7:00 PM on the 3rd Monday of each month, March through December. Meetings are held at the Effort United Methodist Church on Merwinsburg Road in Effort, PA. At monthly meetings, a speaker shares information pertinent to the membership. Program information include the following General Federation of Women’s Club Departments; arts, conservation, education, home life, international affairs, and public affairs.
